Barrera Autumn/Winter Collection Fall 2011 for Colorado Fashion Week

We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported Barrera and all other designers during Colorado Fashion Week Fall 2011. This event was a huge success and that thanks to all the supporters including but not limited to designers, bloggers, photographers, choreographers, models, make-up artist, event coordinators, and attendees. Barrera presented a small collection, consisting of 14 major looks (below) and we hope everyone was pleased. This being the first major event for the Barrera label, we expect to get more involved with all other events around Colorado and nation wide. Keep an eye out for Barrera. The inspiration for the Autumn/Winter Collection began during the peaceful walks down Battery Park in New York City. Those beautiful Japanese Blossom trees perfectly aligned on the pathway. Walking around enjoyig the cold ocean breeze and watching the petals flake away.

The silhouttes of the collection are very relaxed yet very form fitting and seductively tailored. With black and white blossom printed silks being the most important element of the collection, other elements such as faux fur in wine color scheme and a variety of textured wools, Barrera is sure to delievered a promising collection.

The inspiration for the spring/summer collection came to me on my journey from Montreal to London. This collection is very soft and light, with the main elements being printed silks and bright solid chiffons, following the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. From rouched and ruffled tops, to form-fitting pencil skirts, Barrrera will delivered a very "lady" like collection. Black, ivory, ruby, canary, emerald, and deep purple represent the forefront and meaning of the collection.

Certainly with spring being a very colorful season, Barrera will bring those unique statement pieces while keeping it very simple, classic, and elegant. The cuts and silhouettes of the collection are loosely-fitted and free spirited, yet closely fitted and accentuating the female body, making the very sensual.
